ABOUT
Jeremiah began working with leather in 2015 during his time at Rhema Bible Training Center. While searching for a high-quality leather cover for his personal Bible, he became convinced that he could make one himself. He shared the idea with a friend, who expressed interest in having one as well. When she asked about the cost, he told her $40 for a leather sleeve, and she agreed!
With that money, Jeremiah went to a local leather shop and purchased a piece of lambskin, a few tools, and some thread. With no prior experience or knowledge, he somehow managed to put together a leather cover that actually fit! His friend loved it—even though it was, in his words, absolutely terrible—but that didn’t stop her from using it for the rest of their time at Bible college. It wasn’t a Bible rebind, but rather a leather sleeve designed to go over the existing cover.
Jeremiah stuck with his newfound hobby and, within just a few months, began taking custom orders for bags, wallets, belts, journals—essentially anything people wanted made from leather. That same year, he stumbled upon a premium Bible publisher, RL Allan, and asked his family for an RL Allan 63 Sovereign for his birthday. When he received it, he became determined to figure out how to recreate a premium leather Bible cover.
Ever since then, Jeremiah has continued to perfect his craft of Bible rebinding and repair. What once seemed like only a dream—doing this work full-time—became a reality after five years of trial and error. Though the journey has been filled with challenges, it has also been a source of great joy.
